The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) located on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus was established in 1979 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as an institution to educate and build human resources for a newly established country. Over the years, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) has not only grown exponentially to become an internationally recognized state university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with more than 64,000 graduates and currently educating more than 16,000 students, but it has also earned its place as a renowned university worldwide, where the medium of conduct is English.

Applying to Eastern Mediterranean University is free. University fees consist of tuition and activity fund fees. When your application to EMU has been approved, your first tuition fee will be stated on your acceptance letter. Once you make the payment, you will be issued a student certificate that will allow you to proceed with traveling and registration procedures. In addition to tuition fees, you will consider other expenses such as books, supplies, residency permits, health insurance, accommodation, transportation, food, entertainment, and others.
The cost of education in EMU is very reasonable compared to the very high standard offered. In addition, the university offers scholarships, tuition waivers, and discounts that further reduce the cost of education.
All international students at EMU receive scholarships that cover 50% of tuition fees. 100% scholarships are also offered to students with outstanding academic records.

EMU offers offers a variety academic merit-based tuition fee scholarships to all of its prospective and current students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

to all international students enrolled at the university to promote diversity and increase the international visibility of the University. This scholarship covers approximately half of the tuition fees and is offered to all international students along with their admission.

The modern, fully-equipped residence halls on the EMU campus house more than 10,000 students, and newcomers receive preferential treatment.
Accommodation at Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus costs between €160 and €280 per month on campus, but students can also find cheaper off-campus accommodation.
EMU has 15 dormitory complexes on campus and can accommodate over 7500 students.
Although new students are given priority, it is important to reserve a room early. EMU offers fully furnished apartments with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and balcony.
Students can cook their own meals or eat in the canteen.
